MKUZI GAME RESERVE

INTRODUCTION

Situated along the main North Coast Road, Mkuzi Game Reserve was established in 1912 and covers an area of approximately 33000ha. Game viewing is excellent in the park but it is especially known for its prolific bird life. Two viewing hides have been erected along the Nsumo Pan for visitors to watch the more than 400 species of bird - best during the summer months. A wide variety of activities are available for visitors, including; game drives, guided walks and a traditional Zulu Cultural Village which will take you back in time to the life and experiences of these African people.

ATTRACTIONS

  • Dumazulu Cultural Village: Tours, ethnic dancing shows, a crocodile pool, snake pit and aviary are all available at this interesting village and is sure to take you back in time.

  • Emdoneni Lodge: A cheetah breeding Station where you may view these beautiful animals and their offspring by appointment only.

  • False Bay Park: It offers various activities but also has a fossil display as one of its main attractions.

  • Hluhluwe Wildlife Art Gallery: Pick up some fine wildlife prints by various artists.

  • Ilala Weavers: Experience the soul of Africa and its people through their handcrafts. Lots to do and see!!

ACTIVITIES

  • Enjoy picnics, game watching and bird watching in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve.

  • Zulu Nyala Game Lodge: Set in the shadow of the Lebombo Mountains, this Lodge offers Clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, boat cruises and game drives. 

  • Zululand Tree Lodge: Horse trails, guided walks, bird and game watching is available at this secluded little paradise.

  • False Bay Park: Fishing, walking trails, bird watching and picnic spots all available in the Park.

  • Falaza Game Park: Horse trails, boat trips, game drives and guided walks are available to keep you entertained during your holiday.
